This statue by Louise Simson was erected by the Dulwich Society By public subscription with contributions from Edward Alleyn's Foundation, The Dulwich Estate, on behalf of its beneficiaries. To commemorate the fourth centenary of Edward Alleyn's purchase of the Manor of Dulwich in October 1605.
